Colloquium Experience

World Hunger, climate changes are two of the biggest issues in the world. Two that might be one of the biggest reasons for wars and pain in the years to come. Human kind has survived this long due to its ability to evolve and surpass any obstacle that it has been thrown at it by Mother Nature. Wars, earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, unbearable temperatures all this have had an impact ecological as well. At this rate the temperatures around the world will be non-comprehensive in a few decades. The more the human evolves and destroys our world, it will destroy itself. Colloquium class taught me how to see the world in such a way, that humanity can help each other and help itself and the world that it lives in. By adjusting itself and using the sustainability system, all this can change dramatically and slow the process down. I went to Corkscrew Swamp and I saw such an environment that I have never seen before except for in animal planet. I saw a perfect change from area to area from prairie to rain forest in just a few steps. Only to believe that a small hand of people saved that spot from being destroyed in a few decades ago. That little environment saved, showed the beauty of nature at its finest. A perfect ecosystem that can only be seen a few places on earth now a days. It showed me that if man puts its mind to save something or something, it can achieve it just with a little help. I come from rain forest, river, and tropical system. I am used to the heat and the rain, and I tell you there is nothing more beautiful than a preserved environment.  In all Colloquium it’s a great way to learn about the ecosystem around you and around the world. It shows how humans can work together to save what is left of our world, and bring it back to what it is meant to be. A sustainable environment for man and other species alike. We are the key to the survival of the world, we just need to know how we can start the change.
